22.  Once David offered a broken heart to the Lord for the sin he had committed, what would God again delight in from him? vs. 19 - the sacrifices of righteousness
                            Applications:
1.  Read about David's sins and how the Lord confronted him through the prophet Nathan.  Summarize what you learn in these accounts:
  • 2 Samuel 11:1-27 -David wanted what was not  his  to have.  we today are the same  here iit was a woman but  it can  be money fame  even a pat ones back saying look what  he  or she has done.  Then  when  she  became  with child  he tried to  hide the facted that it was his and wanted  the  husband to  think that it was heis.  But  then  when  the husband  refused to  go  into  his  house because  he cared for  the  men  that were still fighting int the battle.  Then david had  him killed just  one little  sin  can  cost  you more  then  you think.  Just look at  David he only looked and then it  went  all the way to murder.
  • 2 Samuel 12:1-13 -God know everything  that we do  or  say  or even think.  Just as David  thought  that  he  had gotten  away  with what  he had done.  We sometimes think the samething but  then Nathen comes and tell David  ust what he did and what was going to happen to him and his family.  We think that  our  sins only  hurt us  but  that is not aways the trueth.  We never know  whi is watching  our lives  at any giving  moment.
2.  David fell upon God's grace and compassion (mercy) when He prayed to him about his sin and failure.  How are we encouraged to do the same thing when we need God's help?
  • Hebrews 4:16 - God  is  will ti forgive  us  when  we sin but  then we need to remeber that we need  to  really be sorry for what  we did or said  and not  just  use lips service  just  because  the preacher  or teacher  tels  us that  we need to do this.  I think a lot of times it is just  that way we  think oh I said  or  thought  or did this sin I need  to asked for giveness and then  we say for give me God for this and keep  on going.  That is not  how  we are supost  to do it.
3.  David said his sin was 'ever before him'.  He knew that God was blameless in judging him for what he had done.  Acknowledging our sin is agreeing with God on His standards and this is how we receive His forgiveness.  Comment on the following Scripture:
  • 1 John 1:9 -If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  This  verse pretty much says it all.
4.  David asked the Lord to give him a clean heart, a willing spirit, and to restore to him the joy of his salvation.  Once he was revived in that way, he wanted to be on God's mission again - teaching sinners God's ways and seeing them converted to Him.  How does this compare to how Jesus commissioned Peter again after his failure and denial of Him?  Comment on the following verses:
  • Luke 22:31-34 -
  • John 21:14-17 -
5.  Summarize this lesson and post a prayer if you would like.

June 22 2015

Woke  up this morning and  started on another quilt block for  baby blanket.  will show  it  here later today.  Now  am working on Psalms 50:

    and will not be silent
5.  How does the Psalmist describe God's throne? vs. 3 -a fire shall devour before him
6.  Why will God summon the heavens above and the earth below? vs. 4 -that he may judge his people
7.  Before the judgment begins, who will the Lord gather to Himself? vs. 5 - His saints
8.  What declares God's righteousness? vs. 6 -the heavens
9.  Who is Judge? vs. 6 -God
10.  What will God do concerning Israel and why does He have the right to do so? vs. 7 -O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.
11.  What does God "not" reprove them for? vs. 8 -for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings
12.  What will God "not" take from them? vs. 9 -bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds
13.  Concerning beasts and cattle, what belongs to God? vs. 10 -All of them.
14.  How intimately acquainted is God with birds and all that moves in the field? vs. 11 - He knows them all by name.
15.  Why would the Lord not need to let us know if He was hungry? vs. 12 - The whole world  is His and everything in it.
16.  God is not interested in the flesh of bulls or the blood of male goats. (vs.13)  What is it that God wants sacrificed to him? vs. 14 -thanksgiving and to pay  our vows to Him.
17.  Who should we pay our vows to? vs. 14 - God
18.  What should we do in the "day of trouble"? vs. 15a - Call up  on God.
19.  What will happen when we call upon the Lord? vs. 15b - I will deliver thee
20.  What does the Lord say to the wicked? vs. 16 - What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth
21.  How does the wicked feel about discipline? vs. 17 - hatest instruction
22.  What does the wicked do with the Word of God? vs. 17 - casteth my words behind thee
23.  The wicked are pleased with thieves and they associate with adulterers. (vs.18) ...  They loose their tongues with evil words and frame deceit. (vs.19) .. They speak against their own brothers. (vs.20) ... They do these things and God keeps silent for now.... What are they 'thinking'? vs. 21 -  I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
24.  When God reproves the wicked, He will state their case in order before their eyes. (vs.21)  We see that 'books' are opened at the Great White Throne Judgment in Revelation 20:12-15.  Summarize what will happen at that time - God  will Judge  each man and women for  their  works and if our names  are not in the Book of Life  then  we will  be  thrown  in to the lake  fo fire for ever.
25.  What should the wicked do who forget God before it is too late? vs. 22 -Understand  that  they  will be judges and that  if  they don't turn their  hearts  to Jesus then they will be put  in the lake  of fire.
26.  Who is the one who honors God? vs. 23 -  praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright
27.  When we order our way 'aright', what will God show us? vs. 23 -the salvation of God.

Applications:
1.  The Psalmist, Asaph, is giving an account of when God will summon the heavens and earth to bring Judgment of the righteous and the wicked in the last days.  It is beautiful to see, even in the Old Testament account, that God will first gather His "godly ones" to Himself.  This is a picture of the "snatching up of believers" and is called "The Rapture" derived from the Latin language.  What does the Bible tell us about this truth?
  • Psalm 50:5 -Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
  • Daniel 12:1-2 -And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
  • Matthew 26:64 -Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
  • Mark 13:32 -But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
  • John 14:1-3 - Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:52 -in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
  • 1 Thessalonians 1:10 -and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 - For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are leftwill be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:9 -For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Hebrews 9:28 -28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
2.  When we find ourselves in the "day of trouble", we should call on God, and He said He will deliver us.  This is spoken to Israel also.  So many times, people do not call on God, but He is there for everyone who will call on Him.  How does the Bible support this truth?
  • Psalm 50:15 -15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
  • Isaiah 55:6-7 -Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
  • Jeremiah 29:12-13 -Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
  • Jeremiah 33:3 -
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not
  • Amos 5:4 -For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
  • Matthew 7:7 -Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
  • John 3:16 -For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  • John 6:37 -All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
  • John 10:27 -My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
  • Acts 2:19-21 -19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
  • Acts 17:26-27 -And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
  • Romans 10:13 -For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
  • James 4:8 -Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
3.  The wicked who don't acknowledge God think that God doesn't keep count of their ways and that He is just like "them", but He keeps records of their wrongs and they will surely give an account of their deeds on the Day of Judgment if they do not repent in this life and believe in the Lord Jesus who took their judgment on Himself. He is currently being patient putting off the Day so that they will not perish. He longs for all to come to Him, but will repay those who do not. Comment on the following Scriptures:
  • Psalm 10:4 -The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
  • Psalm 50:18-22 -The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
  • Psalm  98:9 -Before the Lord; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.
  • Isaiah 13:11 -11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
  • Daniel 7:9-10 -I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
  • Zephaniah 1:12 -And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, neither will he do evil.
  • Matthew 10:32-33 - Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
  • Matthew 16:27 -For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
  • Mark 8:38 -38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
  • Luke 12:2-5 -For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
  • Luke 20:45-47 -45 Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,
    46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
47 Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
  • John 3:16-18 -For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
  • John 3:19-20 - And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

  • John 12:47-48 -47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
  • Acts 4:12 -Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
  • Romans 1:18-21 -For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
  • Romans 2:5-12,16 -But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
    Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;    16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
  • 1 Corinthians 4:5 -Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
  • 2 Thessalonians 1:6-8 - Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

  • Hebrews 9:27 -And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
  • 2 Peter 2:9 -The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
  • 2 Peter 3:7 -But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men
  • Jude 1:15 -To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
  • Revelation 11:18 -And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
  • Revelation 20:11-15 - And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
4.  As believers, we live in the blessed hope of His soon return!  We look forward to the day that our faith becomes sight!  We give a sacrifice of thanksgiving to Him daily and live to offer our body a living sacrifice to serving Him.  Comment on the following Scriptures and rejoice in knowing Him.
  • Psalm 27:6 - And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.

  • Romans 12:1-2 -I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
  • Ephesians 5:2 -And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

  • 1 Peter 2:5 -e also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
5.  Summarize this lesson and post a prayer if you would like.
We are all going to be judged by God. He is the one that made this world and made us. He does not need us to do his work he is very able to do it his self. But He loves us and to prove that love he gave his son for our sins. I wonder if we would do the same? I don't think that I am will to give one of my kids for another's life. But Praise God He never felt that way. Look at how we treat Him we may go to church 3 times a week if that much and then we expect Him to meet our needs and then sometimes even wants that we really don't need. When he doesn't do this then we say God why have you let this happen to me"? God does not let things happen most of the time we do these things to ourselves.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father Help me to be thankful for what you have blessed me with. You have meet my needs daily. I thank you for that and praise your name for all my friends and family. I pray for adult bible this week that we would learn more about you. I pray for the sick and thank you for the ones that are healing. I asked that you watch over my family and friends today and keep them safe in Jesus name I pray amen.

This was  today Bible lesson from Read the Bible group,  I  have  had a great time this  weekend and will be goring to adult vbs this week at night.
